The Silent Attack

I've been sharing this in conversations, but I feel strongly compelled to express it today after witnessing another distressing incident yesterday that ignited a deep spiritual anger within me.

There has been a subtle yet significant assault on our children and families. In this age of social media and smartphones, we are more connected than ever, yet somehow, we're also less connected. The troubling reality is that by the time we notice the warning signs, a full-scale battle is already underway.

The enemy's most significant attack on our youth has not been as overt as we might think. For instance, my brothers were deeply affected by video games that became increasingly violent, depicting scenarios of sexual assault and offering players opportunities to rob, harm, and kill, not just cartoon characters but ones that felt more real. As a result, a generation grew numb to violence and killing.

Then there was the increasing sensationalism of emotions portrayed in television shows. Many current shows depict high school students grappling with issues such as sexual relationships, identity crises, depression, self-harm, suicide, substance abuse, and rehabilitation—situations that many of us didn't begin to confront until adulthood. The constant portrayal of these issues as a part of real life has distorted our young people's perceptions of reality. Now, we see elementary and middle school children wanting to change their gender, vaping, experimenting with drugs, engaging in sexual activity, and adopting feelings of depression—all influenced by what they have seen and the pervasive "me too" mentality.

Please understand that I recognize there are circumstances and situations that can lead to trauma and contribute to these behaviors. However, I see a spiritual attack aimed at sidetracking a generation that is called by God and anointed to break strongholds. If we focus solely on addressing symptoms without tackling the root causes, we will continue to miss important opportunities for true healing and deliverance (though we cannot thwart God's purpose).

God is calling us to redirect our focus. He is summoning the "repairers of the breach" to help reconstruct and mend the foundation so that we can move forward into holiness on a stable bridge.
